The encampment is very interesting, renovated and easy to roam through with folks who will explain what is in the tent or building. Museum is great, well laid out and history abounds! Priceless artifacts and so many stories not in the history books. A day...More

This was our first stop of Homeschool week in Williamsburg. The 4D theater was amazing, but so were the other numerous videos and displays around the museum. We had some trouble outside in the soldier camp because the area was covered with crushed shell. It...More

This museum is comprehensive in covering the Revolutionary War and the Battle of Yorktown. You could spend the better part of a day viewing and reading both the indoor and outdoor exhibits. You would be the better for having done that.

Fascinating museum. We got to see a cannon fired, toured a typical revolutionary army encampment and didn't have enough time to see everything. Plan to spend at least 4 hours.

As history buffs, we could have spent an entire here, as we found the indoor exhibits fascinating. There is no way we could have read every exhibit and viewed every video offered. As this is a new museum, everything is well done. Please note that...More

Good place to learn about the history of the Revolutionary War. Beautiful, new museum explains everything quite well. September is a great time to visit. Summer - I wouldn't think so unless you love the heat.

The Jamestown Settlement and the Museum at Yorktown are operated by the same non profit and they do an outstanding job at both. The American Revolution Museum is my first choice for both indoor and outdoor activities. If... More

There all good. But the Yorktown Revolutionary Museum just reopened this spring with a new building and it's much larger than the old building. It has a cafe inside, and your only a mile away from the Yorktown beach. There... More

I have the same experience with my family so I understand your question. The American Revolution Museum is very state-of-the-art and would be very entertaining for people somewhat interested in history. Colonial Williamsburg... More
