My wife and I visited national park while in Yorktown. The main building was very interesting including a brief movie showing the Battle of Yorktown. It was a good history lesson. The self-guided drive through the park was great. it allowed you to view all the points of interest at your own pace. The national park system has a winner... More

This was our second time to the park last time was 4 years ago when we purchased the park pass. This time we did not we just walked through the historic area. The building are orginal and well restored/preserved. If you are into American History this is a great place to visit - a shame many places do not keep... More

With hindsight we tried to pack in too much in one day. We drove from Norfolk VA to Yorktown, then along the Colonial Parkway to Williamsburg, then along to Jamestown. So much to see and do. In Yorktown we took the included trolley bus which gave us a great idea of the layout of the area and what there is... More

The title of this review is self explanatory. See what life looked like when the United States was a colony of another nation.

The last time we were in Virginia we had planned on seeing Yorktown, however a very rainy day prevented it. Since this will probably be our last trip back east this was a must do on this trip. I can't say enough about how beautiful the monuments are and the fact George Washington and his troops were camped here, not... More

A ticket buys seven days of adventure and learning indoors and out. The park includes museums, battlefields, nature walks, reconstructed forts, an indian village, games, bivouacs, piers, wildlife, river views, archaeological digs and historic commerce sites in Yorktown, Jamestown and the fascinating area in between. Those 15 and younger, active duty military members, and seniors are admitted for free. Sites... More

Enjoyable visit to Colonial National Historical Park. Easy walkabout near the other historic sites in the History Triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown, & Yorktown. Can be accessed by car or by bicycle.

The visitor center is great. The battlefields are beautiful. The tour road is a great ride whether you're in a car or on a bike. The picture is misleading. That's a picture of Colonial Williamsburg, also a great place to visit and within a beautiful thirty minute drive on the Colonial Parkway. CNHP focuses on the Revolutionary War but there's... More

This beautiful tidal island is so deceptive as in 1607 (before the Pilgrims) that the English thought this a good idea. Hard times followed but the preservation and restoration is superb and must be witnessed. We enjoyed a great NPS Ranger Robbie Smith who took use through the details of the Yorktown siege and the collapse of the British under... More
