Tour guides and boat staff gave the history of Yorktown through a magnificent sail boat ride. Guests were given the chance to raise the sails. Hot dogs and drinks available. Small group size made the trip pleasant and afforded the opportunity to talk and ask questions and appreciate the experience.

Of all the planes, trains and boats, including the Delta Queen, I've had the pleasure of using, none have surpassed the several hours I spent on the Alliance on the York River estuary - the best $74 I've spent recently. The Alliance is a 3 masted schooner capable of handling about 49 passengers while its sister, the Serenity, a 2... More

We booked an afternoon sail that last several hours. It was a perfect choice to make on a sunny, breezy afternoon. The captain was very knowledgeable and shared lots of information about the sights and history. Highly recommend.

We were lucky that we chose a great day for sailing. It was a little overcast but enough wind that we could sail and didn't need the engine. Our guide, John, was very good. Forgot the young "intern" that was on the sailboat, but he was very courteous and helpful.

I really enjoyed my boat ride with Yorktown Sailing Charters. We had fabulous weather and a beautiful day on the water. The men running the boat were very friendly and willing to chat with those of us on the boat. I was under the impression that we would have more of a guided tour of the history of the area,... More

We took the 2 p.m. sail on Sunday and really enjoyed the experience. The captain and crew were very helpful and professional. We had a safety review and some history of the area. We also learned about VIMS and the work that they do, which is very interesting. Snacks and drinks onboard were an added treat. Would highly recommend for... More
