We visited on 6/26/17 and had Ranger Barb as our guide. Very informative and thoroughly entertaining for a family who has kids that are 10 & 12. She was very knowledgeable with her history and made it very clear that her thoughts weren't the only...More

We had visited the museum at the national park but we had not done the walking/driving tour of the battlefield. The information in the map and on the signs at the stops was interesting and gave a good overview of the site's history. The tour...More

Rocky start, we were a bit early and my kids were really excited to get started. Once they did open, the person made a snarky comment about how we should have waited until they "actually opened". We bought our tickets and they didn't give us any...More

We decided to do the driving tour. Took us a couple hours but was very interesting. The placards was very informational and gave you a good perspective of how the environment was during the battle. It is spine tingling knowing that you are at the...More

Stopped by with three young kids and they attempted the Jr Ranger activities which was a nice change since they have been by quite a few times already and they enjoyed the scavenger hunt. Senior guests can still get their lifetime pass for $10, it...More

Park Ranger Mike did an amazing job on a hot day delivering the gospel of America's FREEDOM! We learned more about military strategy than any of us ever thought we might. Not only did Mike completely deliver but every park ranger at this location was...More

The Yorktown Battlefield and the Visitors Center are both an excellent way to see and understand our history better. The auto tour of the battlefield was interesting and you can stop and see as much or as little as you choose.

We began by watching the film in the visitors' center. We had a copy of the car tour CD and enjoyed following through the battlefield narrative. Because of the extreme heat the afternoon we started, we decided to do just a quick drive though without...More

This was the battle that birthed the nation! Visitor center is the perfect size, not overwhelming; very manageable. The movie is great. Walking and driving the battlefields requires imagination, but I loved it. Come here and honour the men who died for your freedom!

I wouldn't recommend it. Because of the size of the roads and the twists and turns, it would be cumbersome. It would be much easier without pulling an RV.

Do you suggest we buy tickets ahead? How many people do you expect? Where do you suggest we look for accomodations?

My dad is over 60 and he was offered a lifetime pass for 10 dollars and is good for all national parks. We were there on a Wednesday and had the park to ourselves. They offer an audio tour so you can move at your own pace.
