The scenic colonial parkway connects the Historic Triangle between Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Jamestown. The roadway has plenty of nature surrounding it to hide most modern traces so you seem to be transported back in time. There are a number of pullover stops to fish or...More

Traveled several sections of the parkway during our 1 week stay. But the best was after the snow. Everything was gorgeous! The road was very scenic and well maintained. We enjoyed stopping at all the turnouts and reading the informative signs.

It's difficult to hide my excitement of a road. But no ordinary road mind you. A historic trail turned present day park most likely used by the Indians to travel by horse. It stretches 23 beautiful scenic miles and cuts through gorgeous wooded terrain. The...More

We really enjoyed this place easy to get around and not too crowded in December. We liked the Christmas spirit of the town and the tows folk and tradesman were really neat to see.

My sisters and I spent our annual trip this year in Virginia's History Triangle, so we drove this road every day. It is in great shape and is an exquisitely beautiful drive! It was just past peak fall colors, but still breath-taking.

We were staying in Williamsburg, but traveled to Yorktown for a few hours during the day. It was a sunny fall day and all the leaves were orange; it was absolutely stunning. It is only two lanes, though it feels like more, think speed limit...More

This drive is absolutely beautiful in the fall. We have taken the parkway several times and love the beautiful colors. There are deer to see, pull over places, several bodies of water, bridges, and informational signs to read along the drive. Bring your camera and...More

Found this attraction to be very interesting. The staff were very good acting the part of the Colonial period. They were very knowledgeable about their area and patient with all questions. The park was clean and very walkable. It would’ve been nice if they had...More

Easy to access and linking the attractions in the Historic Triangle. Very nice river views. Plenty of pull offs to read the history of the area. Free.

Yes...of course. It is open year round and locals use it to avoid I-64 when it gets jammed up or they want a peaceful, easy drive. There are a lot of historical markers and pull-offs. I great place to go star gazing as the... More

We typically cycle from Yorktown to Williamsburg, grab a bite at the Wine @ Cheese shop at Merchant's Square, then return back to Yorktown for Ben & Jerry's
