Beautiful Art Museum
Feb 2020
The DAI is a beautiful art museum that not only houses a lot of beautiful and important works of art, it also features many exceptional exhibits that showcase rare and beautiful artwork that a lot of larger art museums would be proud to be able to have exhibited

An Ohio Treasure & Great Event Venue
Jan 2020 • Business
Was honored to attend the Dayton Area Bd of Realtors 2020 induction at Dayton Art Institute. As a first time visitor, I was amazed at a fantastic collection in a beautiful building. Dayton Art Institute is truly an Ohio treasure. I gladly recommend Dayton Art as a venue for your next upscale event. Staffing was great, food very good. DAI staffers easily handled a crowd of 200 for a played dinner. Hats off to the Dayton Art Bd & staffers for a wonderful evening. 1/09/2020

Art Jewelry and other exhibits.
Jan 2020
Its been awhile since I have been here and I forget how nice it is. The art jewelry exhibit is only there for a little while longer but such a lovely exhibit. The design and execution of the pieces is truly an art. There are other interesting exhibits as well as the permanent collection. So glad we made the trip from Cinti and spent an interesting and informative day there. The front staff was helpful in getting us the membership even though she was juggling about 5 other requests at the same time!

A wonderful museum
Dec 2019
I wanted to see the Mayfield Collection. I expected to see more Dayton pictures. A few pictures were spectacular. But they also had a wonderful collection of jewelry made by women during the last century. It is wonderful.

A diverse collection of American, European, Asian, South American, and African Art. It was a nice stop after doing the Air Force Museum.

Go and you will not be disappointed

So I was a music teacher at edison elem in Dayton. I am a big guy and the principal wanted me to attend the field trip here. The art teacher in the classroom next to me was 80LBS. So We get there and the kids were pretty enthralled with the Degas exhibit. The docent there knew so much about lighting and texture and perspective! I felt like I just completed a semester at UD in art appreciation. These guys know their stuff. Best field trip ever! Retired now, I go back whenever they highlight a new exhibit.

A high-class place for normal class people
Jul 2019
Throughout history the appreciation of art has been an exclusive privilege of the elite. Dayton Art Institute has made the appreciation of art available for every class of person. Poor blue-collar white collar extremely rich in a person without a penny in their pocket.

Anyone that can afford the price of admission ticket can take a walk to the history and the beauty that is displayed upon the walls throughout the building. From there every day displays to their special exhibits Dayton Art Institute remains a premier place for every person in Dayton to visit. But they are from the area are just visiting make sure you stop by

Amazing

This has fun, art, education and sophistication. I was truly impressed. And it was free unless you pay a small fee for the exhibit. Which I suggest you do it's worth it.

A mixture of art
Sep 2019 • Friends
A very large museum with lots of various art and artifacts. Something for everyone. I really liked the Mona Lisa exhibition, showing what the picture looks like (on a video) and what it would’ve looked like if painted today. Wow. I would suggest that the placards should have a larger font - to make it easier to read for those of us with bifocals.
