Awesome skiing experience for beginners even. A scenic gondola ride for the faint hearted. Quite reasonable at $150 pp. The views from on top of mammoth mountain were breathtaking. Try the mammoth mocha at tusks bar - brandy bailey coffee and hot chocolate.

They close many of the lifts this time of year but the snow is amazing for spring skiing. Even the weather has been great! It's like skiing in March snow during the month of May. Staff is very friendly and the crowds have all gone...More

Everything is over priced such as alcohol, lodging, food. Not to mention hard to breath at 8000 feet. Go to Lake Tahoe.

Snow and more snow. Mammoth has lots. Skiing probably through July 4th weekend. We had sunny sky's and temperatures in the 50's.

Mammoth is fun. We came the day after they closed all of their lower south facing slopes, though there was plenty of snow. The weather turned cold and the top of the mountain never thawed, so steep ice. The available chairs did not have a...More

Fun place to drive from Los Angeles, only 5 hours on beautiful highways, for some of the best skiing in North America.

Went for a spring Ski vacation with a couple of friends. Although I have been to Mammoth Lakes three times before in September, I had not skied there until this trip. The downhill ski runs were wide open. Only a few other skiers/boarders crossed my...More

What a ridicules view! Just took a break from work and decided to go to the "top of the world" and it was spectacular. If you don't ski -ok - just go on a beautiful day and enjoy an incredible view.

Just got back from three days of snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain. It is still snowing up there. I had 2 days of snow out of the three days that I stayed. So get up there as conditions are perfect for spring.

Mammoth mountain is beyond amazing. It's beautiful. The only thing negative is how popular it is. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is pretty good, love the outside bar at Canyon lodge. Lots of activities for the kiddos. Love Mammoth!

I was told the ski season goes through July 4th - what are the ski conditions in late June? Is it worth the money for the ski pass?

By April, it will definitely be spring style skiing. The snow will be better on top were the temps remain lower throughout the day and night, and the snow will be likely a 7-Eleven Slurpy at the lower elevations. By June... More

I have stayed at the Westin in the Village. Best place for sure in location. Gondola was working. I have no idea how is the weather in Summer. Enjoy!

Hi! We are looking at planning a April spring skiing trip to Mammoth. What would be the closest major airport? Would we be able to drive to Mammoth from a major airport? How long of a drive? Is there any bus or shuttle services? Thank you!

Try to get a flight to LAX then take the short flight to Mammoth airport. It's very affordable unless you are bringing your own gear-airlines charge a ton for oversized luggage. The cost of the flight is worth the time saved... More
