Sometime in Fairmount Park you really feel like you're not in the city. It's huge! Great place to see a concert. Great place to just bring a hammock and lie around. Great place to go sledding. Take a walk there!

We spent a few hours walking around the parks, both east and west, with a car to get us from one point to another as this park is HUGE. We stopped to view cherry blossoms and other blossoming trees, checkout out the Shofuso Japanese House,...More

President John Adams (1735-1826) described Mount Pleasant, high on a hill in Fairmount Park overlooking the Delaware River, as the most elegant seat in Pennsylvania. As it was intended to do, the Georgian house with its classical proportions and ornate interior woodwork on the 70-acre...More

Have a great time walking around the park, especially along Kelly Drive, where boat house row is beautiful to see any time of the day or night, or along Martin Luther King Drive, which is a little more private and green. Both abound with walk...More

Hi there. Is Fairmount Park safe at night to shoot a film? I wanted to film a "dense, woodsy" scene, but it has to be at night. I'm trying to find the safest place to do it. Are there people walking around?

My apologies these do not get pushed to me. I would not go into the park at night unless I had a group with me and only in certain sections. There are other parks in the area I would use instead.
Is it possible to get around the park using public transportation or is a car necessary?

Fairmount Park includes over 10,000 acres of park land. The best areas, in my opinion, are along the Schuylkill River (both sides) and along the Wissahickon Creek (Wissahickon Valley Park). To truly appreciate the park... More
