We walked here on a Friday night in the summer and it was alive with lots of different characters. There are tons of shops and places to eat along the street. Definitely, go and enjoy yourself.

Very cook place to shop, something for everyone. Great food places, very diverse. Would definitely go back again. Reminded me of the east village in Manhattan.

An after dinner walk down South Street to Penn's Landing.. Enjoy looking across the Delaware at the Battleship New Jersey.. She fired a lot of salvos back in the day to support us in the Nam 1969...

If you visit Philly, no trip is complete without a visit to South Street. Have a few drinks at the piano bar(can't remember the name) walk along the water front, shop at Tower Records.

This is an eventful strip with numerous options for food, drinks and even some unorthodox shopping! I actually went into my first legit sex store on this street and it was pretty cool. Nice philly cheese steak options and just an overall good experience :)

Make sure to wear walking shoes! There are two sides to this street and you should see both. All types of shopping and eating to do so take your wallet. Almost reminds me of a Chinatown where everything is negotiable.

I took a stroll through South Street during the day on a Tuesday, so I am not attesting to the colorful nights that I am sure one can experience. But what I can tell you is that I get a sense that art is very...More

This place gets more colorful at night, and is a great place to visit for a cheesesteak at Jim's and/or a slice of pizza at Lorenzo's. Walking up and down the street is a must and at the end there is a pier for your...More

The South Street is not just a street, it's a promenade sight... There are many hotels near-by it. And all of them are rather good, and classy. I would prefer these among others: Alexander Inn, Morris House Hotel... More
