I didn't know anything about this theatre before going to see A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, a classic Sondheim production. Apparently, its the oldest continuously running theatre in America! This year (2017) is the 209th season! I dare say its...More

Going to the Walnut Street Theater to see a show is just as good as going to NYC at a more reasonable price. Having seen numerous shows in NY this theater ranks a very close second to see fantastic shows and not have all the...More

Jerry's Girls is a wonderful medley of Jerry Herman tines sung by three very talented and entertaining women. The costumes are very well done, the songs are engaging and performers are top notch. So glad we got to see this in the Independence Studio.

Check out their shows, great for kids and family. My grandmother would take me there when I was a child. I continued to go and had subscriptions. You will love it!

Walked in on an opened evening. Found an amazing cozy musical, reminiscent of old school theater. Not the most comfortable, or plush seating; however, highly recommended to have a up and close theatrical experience with actors. There are no assigned seats, so it is recommended...More

I just checked the theater's website and it looks like the theater is closed for the month of August. The next show listed is South Pacific on September 6, 2016.

Its not the best, but still good. Theater is small, so unless you are in a far corner, you are fine. Enjoy!
