Wonderful detour near Washington Square

So glad I walked in on my way through Washington Square to National Constitutional Center. It's an amazing piece of art. Yes, parts are being renovated but its beauty is apparent.

It's close to independence hall so very convenient to stop by if you are already in the area. However, when I was there on April 19th, it looked as though it was being renovated. It looked as though there were lots of pieces of masking tape on the mosaic for where repairs needed to be made? Still beautiful to see... More

Simply stunning 100 year old Tiffany glass mosaic. It is just amazing what someone could do just using pieces of colored glass! The setting sun reflecting off of the tree trunk and the hills behind it, Just wow!

I've been wanting to see this beautiful mural for over a decade and was so glad/happy to finally see it. It's better than I imagined! Gorgeous Tiffany favrile glass in sumptuous Maxfield Parrish artwork. The more you relax and look at it, the more things you start to see. Bonus? It's FREE! It is kinda sad that it's rather hidden... This is a huge floor to ceiling mosaic in the lobby of The Curtis Center at Walnut and 6th St. It was designed as a collaboration between Maxfield Parrish and Louis Comfort Tiffany and will amaze you. Just walk into the building and take a look!

Philadelphia hidden gem and cannot miss sight is located inside the Curtis Center. The Tiffany Mosaic is a beautiful art piece open and free to the public for viewing and admiring. I highly recommend a visit here to experience a Maxfield Parrish original.

Located in the lobby of The Curtis Center is a radiant mosaic which was designed in collaboration between Maxfield Parrish and Louis Comfort Tiffany. Composed of more than 100,000 pieces of favrile glass, each one is hand-fired to achieve absolute perfection in each of the 260 colors. Take a moment out of your busy day, sit on one of the... More

I stumbled onto this wonderful piece of art quite by accident. It's called THE DREAM GARDEN and was constructed by Tiffany Studios in 1914-15. It's made of Favorite Glass I think. It covers the whole back wall of the Curtis Building at 6th & Walnut and is across the street from the West entrance to Independence Hall. It is so... More

It is a soothing experience in Philadelphia’s summer heat to walk into the cool Curtis Center Building (Walnut and 6th St.) and, at the end of the lobby, encounter the enchantingly spring-like Dream Garden mosaic, a 49 x 15 ft pastoral landscape in 260 shades of the most luscious colors and color shades. As a gesture of civic pride, the... More
