The President's House should have been about being the "White House" from 1790 to 1800 and the impact it had on Presidents Washington and Adams and our country. Most of the exhibit would have been fine at a museum concerning colonial era slavery, but political...More

Adjacent to the Liberty Bell this was the site of the Presidents House in Revolutionary times. The original foundation is shown and there are placards detailing the lives of the slaves here.

Exactly what it says on the tin, It is the site of the President's House - not much to see at all. On the plus side, it's next to the Liberty Bell Center, so you don't have to go out of your way.

Very cool how they have the foundation preserved. Great to see the walls built to show you what it roughly looked like. A quick visit before going to the Liberty bell.

I was especially interested in seeing this "new" site on this trip to Philadelphia as I followed the archeological excavation when it was being done on webcam. I also seem to remember some controversy when the excavation was finished as to whether to restore it...More

It is worth it to stop here just to listen to the various slaves' stories. You can also see really cool archaeological remains of the house's foundation. It doesn't seem like much when you look at it from across the street (many people don't even...More
