Many of the main historical locations in Philadelphia are in this famed part of the city. If you want to truly learn about it, take a tour or have a local who knows the history give you a walk-through or guided tour.

This grassy / weedy walk way is heavily trafficked with pedestrians but is a great place to stand, walk or sit a while and reflect on all the historic buildings within eyesight.

We were blessed by perfect weather and could not enjoy the park more. Just strolling along the park is lots of fun and the monuments and statues along it only add to the experience

It's become built up and commercialized but there is something about standing in the mall and looking at Independence Hall that makes you so proud to be American.

The Mall is an interesting place taking up several blocks. Summertime people will come and picnic and get suntans and just enjoy the space.

I would say 1.5-2 hours should be good. If you rush and try really hard you can finish it in 45 mins - 1 hour. If I were you I would skip Mutter Museum if I run short on time.
