Mac and Cheese better than Moms!

First time visit to this site. Small menu but excellent choices. Mac and Cheese was out of this world.

As the ever growing "craft beer" bar scene increases it's nice to find a bar with great beer and a down to earth attitude about the world. Highly recommended.

Incredible selection of craft beer from all over the world! American, Belgian, German, Italian, French, Japanese beer and wine. The place is super packed closer to the evening but you can always seat by the bar. Totally worth visiting!

Loved this place from when we first walked in. Attractive and welcoming interior, good vibe, informed and courteous staff. The Belgian style ales are wonderful. They don't do samples generally but was able to order a known favorite and a taste of another new to me ale came along. Ended up getting that one as well, so samples sell. Mussels... More

Business lunch. Great friendly service. Yummy burgers and Pomme Frites. Didn't have a chance to taste any beer but the selection seemed extensive

During the 80's and 90's when i worked on 16th Street, my colleagues and i used to go to Monk's all the time ... not so much lately, since i retired; however, i was there twice recently and will go back soon. I think Monk's is addictive though i don't even drink beer. The mussels are great, the hamburgers are... More

If you are looking for a great beer bar this is it. A great beer rotation on tap and a super bottle list. If you like to talk beer this is the place to go whe you are in Philly. Pair you beer with a bucket of mussels and you are lose to heaven.

To be fair to this establishment, we didn't eat or drink here: we weren't really allowed! I had taken my daughter, son-in-law, and 10-month-old granddaughter to Philadelphia to see the Christmas village in Love Park. When we adults decided that a good beer was in order, we did an internet search and decided on Monk's. It was just after 4... More

Monk's is a truly special Belgian beer bar with very good Belgian/Pub food. Monk's has ties to some of the World's grandest, oddest and most special breweries, regularly selling bottles and draft beers made JUST for them - yeah, that's a thing but almost impossible to find, especially in the U.S., especially on the East Coast and definitely unheard of... This bar has a European style look and feel with dark oak surroundings it was a great way to cool down from the heat outside. The list of beers and wines was large of which the barman was very knowledge about offering samples based on preferences. I ended up drinking a beautiful Belgium beer called Tripel Karmeliet, I don’t remember... More
