The Museum covers all areas of American History. Military and Political History are the focus with some pop culture covered. Some highlights include: A lock of George and Martha Washington's hair, Abraham Lincoln's wallet and opera glasses,John Wilkes Booth's splint relic, the largest collection of Gettysburg battlefield relics on display in Gettysburg, an autograph or manuscript from each president, Harry Truman's hat, Dwight D. Eisenhower's golf clubs, JFK's rocking chair, suit, and bloodstained limousine upholstery from the assassination, the flag that flew during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Shell casing from Ruby's gun that Killed Oswald, Hitler's silver that was captured by U.S. forces at his home. The Fredrick G. Pfeffer collection of relics from Pickett's Charge. The Robert L. White collection of JFK, The Captain Good collection (wounded in action at Gettysburg) includes the items he used during the battle and the bullet that wounded him! We stopped by during our recent trip to Gettysburg. This museum is very deceiving from outside. They have very large collection of Civil War relics, plus Presidential and WW2. This museum was on American Pickers and is definitely a must visit. Free entry and a voluntary donation.

This museum has an extensive collection of memorabilia from the Civil War, as you would expect. Items like Lincoln's wallet are amazing to behold. What is unexpected and fascinating are the items from World Wars l and ll (Eva Braun's negligee, anyone?) and various presidents (Kennedy's rocking chair, Teddy Roosevelt's hat). Would not have thought to stop in here, had it not been for an episode of Pawn Stars, where the owner/curator of this museum was on it. My son and I enjoyed looking at all the artifacts, especially the ones actually collected from the battlefield.

Stop in on March 30th. Many items to see and a chance to talk to the owner who is 6th generation is very knowledgeable and is personable Amazing items that were displayed.

If you think history is dull, you have not been to the Gettysburg Museum of History. There is something for everyone here. It's was filled with toms of historical stiff not just Gettysburg but a lot of neat sruff. Kids were impressed here

The minute you step up to a glass case and see a piece of "the true cross" you know you've entered a special sort of museum.
