Overview
More
See the ENTIRE battlefield at one time and watch the troop movements for ALL three days of battle. The battlefield covers 6,000 acres, an area large enough to be difficult to visualize. The Gettysburg Diorama will put the battle into perspective when you see the ENTIRE battlefield as it appeared in 1863. Carefully researched and meticulously assembled, the Diorama contains over 20,000 hand-painted soldiers, horses, cannons and buildings. Picture the battle through the eyes of Generals Meade and Lee as a narrative unfolds in miniature with a light and sound effects experience you won't forget.

Gettysburg is best appreciated by someone that has an understanding of the battle that took place over the three days. I used to refresh my memory by viewing the electric map of the battle, however now that it is no longer available, this diorama does...More

First of all, the artwork is impressive! The diorama allows you to walk around and see the entire battlefield at one time. There is a 30-min narration with sound effects. My family (youngest 10 yo) loved it.

Was just okay - moved too fast if you did not already know the history of the battle. Think the topography should have been more accurate

I have been going to Gettysburg for a number of years now and this is another of my must stop locations in town. My first must stop is the new Gettysburg Museum and Visitor's Center. The old Visitor's Center had this great Electric Map of...More

Hard to believe, because of its incredible size, that this is an original oil painting. The use of lights and sound effects in the room where the diorama is displayed brings the battle to life. Recommend.

The diorama has been in Gettysburg for a number of years and is a little out-dated. However, my 11 year old loved the diorama as it helped give you perspective on the overall layout of the battlefield and town. Tickets also include a visit through...More

I am a Gettysburg amateur historian. The Diorama provides the viewer a great synopsis of the three day battle. It takes the viewer on a historically accurate chronological sequence of events that makes it easier to understand a very complicated situation. Most presentations and books...More

Since the National Park Service removed the Electric Map, this is an even better replacement! The museum diorama presentation is a great starting point before visiting the battlefield. The basement manequin tour was a great way to learn about other places of importance worth visiting.

We got these tickets free from Artillery Ridge Campground and were killing some time before the brewfest. We figured what the heck. While it is a bit dated, as mentioned in other reviews, and a bit corny, we sat and watched the show and learned...More
