Our visit to Sach's Bridge

A great covered bridge built in 1854 and in great condition today. It is located just off the Gettysburg battlefield but well worth the trip.

You cannot drive, only walk across it. Good place to have a picnic by the water or fish in the creek. There is an informative plaque near the bridge, hard to read due to weathering but still neat history on the bridge. Stop by for a few minutes or longer to check it out whilst touring the area.

If you have not been exposed to covered bridges, this will be a quaint excursion. For us, having seen many, it was just so-so. Nice but nothing special. It all depends on your perspective and previous experience. But it is close enough that there is no pressure to take the short drive to see it.

This amazing place makes an impression. Silence, calm, the sound of a small waterfall. This place must definitely be seen;) The bridge looks impressive

It is hard to find, there Isn't a direct route to get there. It is a beautiful little area. There were some rude locals when we visited the site. Other than that it is a nice little hidden treasure.

this was my very first covered bridge ever seen. is was beautiful! very pretty scenery. i wished though that you could have driven across it. you could only walk across it. didn't give it a "5" because there was graffiti on the inside of it.

Always loved this bridge and the area. So much that husband and I got married there on a beautiful October day in 2016. Can be spooky at night but the daytime is breathtaking and peaceful.

We were on an 'adventure' to find this bridge. And we did.....we really NO help from any signage. Only with vague descriptions of it being in the middle of 'nowhere' but this was well worth the trip to find it and be able to walk around on it. Ample of parking so you can get out and look around. The view and beauty of the area is just stunning. It was great to see that it's monitored by remote cameras to protect a piece of history. Except for people carving or writing on the inside of the bridge, it was just great.

My husband and I have gone ghost hunting at several locations around the US and this was definitely the best! We heard a clear voice say "Timothy" while on the bridge itself. We can't wait to go back and hunt around again!
