My boyfriend and another couple and I came for July 2017 154th Reenactment. We bought bleacher seats in advance for the first day and arrived early to beat the crowds/traffic. We are in our mid 30s and none of us are huge history buffs, but...More

We've all seen the paintings of battles, most of us have seen reenactments on T.V. but it doesn't compare to the real thing. A commentator explains the battle infrequently when the action is going on. The soldiers on both sides march into and/or out of...More

Last time we went (in 2013) the event was at another site. We actually saw far more this time and for once the Southern forces were close to the spectator area. A god turn out for Sutlers, but not enough period music

Participating at this event, I noticed a few things that would be helpful to spectators. There are minimal shade trees at the site, so you will want to have your SPF 35 on before entering. Also, there are no flush toilets (portajons) and no place...More

It is almost real. They do such a good job you would swear it was real. You are told what is going on as it unfolds. Get tickets way in advance for the bleachers and take lots of water. The have a full three day...More

To see the reenactment on the 3rd day of the war was amazing. The people did a great job, and the moderator did an excellent job of the explaining what actually happened.
