I've attended the past two reenactments and I will attend many more. The event is in July and, indeed, the weather is hot. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and drink plenty of water. There is a living history area where you can experience what life was like during the Civil War period. Displays include medicine, blacksmith, cooking, and much more. Seeing... More

If you like being crowded, hot with no access to bathrooms than this is the place for you. I would avoid this like the plague especially in July.

I have visited Gettysburg multiple times and have been to multiple Annual Reenactments. It is an amazing, profound experience. My son is a reenactor and has spent up to a week at a time, in character, sharing in one of the most meaningful trials in our Nation's history. It is a must-see experience.

Lots of hype. If you like live cannon booms. The final charge and the Armistead taking the center cannon was. The show. Free reinactments all over the park were just as good. Sales tents made it a festival. Good to expirience once but would not pay again. See reinactors at the park and you can talk with them to learn... More

The local reenactment of the battle of Gettysburg helps to bring this incredible battle to life. The re-enactors really get into their parts and give you a taste of what the battle looked like.

Largest human drama to behold! I was overwhelmed with the sights and sounds. The expertise of all involved were true historians and caring folks. Great experience!

Save your money or donate it to a civil war preservation group. It is hot, overpriced and lacks authenticity. They treat the reenactors like garbage. without them, there is no reenactment!

This was a real disappointment. It was very hard to see unless you paid extra to sit in the bleachers and the action was VERY slow. There were times when absolutely nothing happened for 15 to 20 minutes. We were told that a lot of the people used most of their ammunition the day before. We were there the 4th... More

The reenactment was really good. Unfortunately, it was so hot that the time in the sun became overwhelming. I recommend a good sun hat and lots of sunscreen. People who drove in were able to bring their own chairs for seating--tickets are less expensive that way. We sat in the bleachers. We met some wonderful people as we waited for... More

Cannot get close enough to see much on the field. Expensive to get in and terrible parking. We did a local reinactment and it was great.
