Guana State Park is one of the most beautiful places on earth! If you would like a quiet natural beach with lots of space to spread out, this is the place! We love coming here! This is a state park. It is a little drive south of Jacksonville- but totally worth it! Bring a few dollars for parking per vehicle... More

This is probably one of the coolest places locally to view a majority of the local fowl all in one place. If you go for a short paddle you'll see spoonbills, osprey, gulls, ducks, coot, heron, storks and whatever you can spot. There is also some good duck hunting here in the fall/winter if that's what you're into. Just make... More

Great beach, little traffic, although you do virtually take your life into your hands to cross the highway to get into the park. It's a roll of the dice whether the snowbirds will yield to you or not...otherwise the beach itself is absolutely gorgeous

I have been going to Guana for many years. I was just there last weekend. If you are planning on fishing the dam, get there early and be prepared to arm wrestle to keep your spot. What's pretty cool is just when you think you've been entertained by the fisherman and women, you can go on a great walk all... More

We only had a few hours, so we hiked the yellow trail to the intercoastal waterway. There are several trails that we would love to explore when we have more time. If you're a hiker, bring lunch and spend the day. We saw a lot of people fishing on our way to the trails. Dogs are allowed on leash. The... More

We needed to clear out the cobwebs from a long car ride. We took our bicycles out on a Friday afternoon, and rode to our hearts' content. The trails were so very well done that it looked as though they had just eked out enough of the natural habitat to all for a path. There were probably 10 miles of... More

The Guana Wildlife Management center is a great day trip for Scouts and Youth Groups! In addition, they offer a lot of opportunities for community service projects and getting young folks back to nature! Little cost to enter the museum, but well worth it! Lots of hands-on displays, great movies and people to talk with!

One of my favorite places to shoot photos, or just to think. It's peaceful and very quiet, and there isn't a better place to take in the sunset.

Guana Pine State Park, trail area, is a great area if you enjoy hiking or biking with your family. There are numerous trails that lead to the river where you can picnic, fish, collect shells, or watch the dolphins. River is approximately 1 mile from parking lot and is an easy walk or you can be adventurous and take one... More
