During Winter break my boyfriend and I decided to check out the trails at UNF. We did the Goldenrod Trail which I believe was 2.5 miles. The weather was nice and we enjoyed ourselves. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes because there are lots of lumps along the trail.

Trails of all lengths with restrooms and plenty of areas for picnicking including a small island, which is easily accessible. Most trails are shady, which is nice, but there is a large pond / small lake, so bring bug spray. Large variety of scenery and wildlife.

My wife loves to nature walk. I am subjected to Bataan Death marches on a regular basis. This place is practically next door. It offers several different trails offering a variety of scenery. There is even a small island that is well suited for a picnic. It appears they rent canoes and kayaks to use on their large lake, though... More

easy parking - go to the lot for parking administration, the may charge a small fee during the week but it's a nice easy trailhead with restrooms. Trails are well marked, we got a map online but didn't see any available at the buildings (they were closed, it was Sunday). You can walk a lot or a little, there are... More

We went out on the trails in the evening before sundown. They were well taken care of and beautiful! We took the Blueberry trail around the lake and it was gorgeous!

If you are a runner and love trails, then head to this place! The trails are located within the University of North Florida location. You can easily get about 3-6 miles in the trails. The views are very pretty! Please keep in mind that they are only available to the public on weekends, otherwise you do need to have a... More

Great trails, some of them with a boardwalk, a couple of large manmade lakes, and wildlife in abundance. You might see an Osprey (the UNF mascot), a Red-Tailed Hawk, a Gopher Tortoise, a Black Racer, or even a WhiteTailed Deer or an Alligator.

A $3 parking fee during the week for use of this resource is inappropriate, particularly considering that most users stay around an hour.

Nice if you want to get away from running on sidewalks. Lots of miles available. Limited to non-existent signage to locate the entrances/exits. You've got to pay to park ($3). The trails loop back on themselves quite a bit so it's hard to get lost. Don't go after it rains, as the low areas collect water. Dangerous to go alone.

UNF is set in the middle of a wildlife preserve. The trail system has been developed over 30 years - an awesome way to see North Florida's diverse and scenic nature.
