Another nice area park. Dedicated to where the fort had been many years ago. Lots of history to think about. This one might be a little less scared for then some of the Fort George area parks. But if you're in the area and want some views of the beautiful bridge and the waterway. Come see.

Nice little park considering it was only used as a military troop encampment for about 350 troops. There is a few picnic tables and not much else. It's kinda weird as it sit's in the middle of a neighborhood. There is a few trails with semi-steep embankments. I could imagine back in the past several tents and campfires in the... More

I feel historical places should be treated with better respect. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice little park with some beautiful trees and some small walking trails and picnic tables. It also... This was a quick stop as the main attraction is a marker dedicated to the Confederate soldiers that protected Jacksonville. There are some cannons and brand new picnic tables might be nice for a family outing on the cheap side of things since its free to walk around.

So overgrown hard to located the earthworks.some old rusted cannons are there. They do not look like from civil war period. A marker is there... More

It seems to me this is an incorrect address for the fort but regardless, it is located in the residential area where I spent many years as a child. What wonderful memories I have running and playing on what use to be deep trenches, lush green vegetation and a little wooden bridge that we were sure housed some foreign creature... More
