This place has beautiful wide trails with hills, boardwalks, and lookouts. The Spanish Pond and Marsh areas are so pretty and the view from the top of the hill on the Timucuan trail is equally impressive. Bikes are not allowed on these trails. Bathrooms are...More

Went over to take a look when visiting Jacksonville. Nice preserve for hiking with a moderate sized parking area. Signage taking you to the location is a bit lacking so use your GPS.

Free access, a mostly wide trail, small inclines, a variety of local flora, a short bridge over a slow-moving creek, a piece of conservation history, a Civil War veteran's grave, and a fifteen-foot lookout platform over the marsh all make for a really pleasant and...More

Such wonderful vegetation and natural beauty. The area is kept up well. I can read a lot of history of the area. It's really just wonderful to see nature in its wild state.

The trail along the marsh has ups/downs with heavy roots. However, I've certainly seen people out there running so it's doable. With the network of trails I don't see why you couldn't arrange your route to avoid that section.
