The views are great and it was fun to be on such a long bridge. There's so much to see on each side, whether Oregon or Washington, but the beaches on the Washington side were particularly enticing on a hot day.

Though I didn't actually cross this bridge, I did see it from several other angles...driving under it, from my hotel patio. It really looks like a postcard and one of the main things I think about both before and after I went to Astoria. If...More

This bridge is a very long two-lane bridge across the Columbia River. The southern end lands in Astoria, Oregon and is very high near that end to allow large ships to pass under on their way to and from Portland.

Not sure what one gets out of seeing a huge bridge, but if that's your thing, this bridge is for you.

This was a cool bridge. Really long and it was surprising to see the sand bars in the river at low tide. Kids would love it.

This is a very unique long bridge about 4 miles in length. It follows the water for most of it then very high on Astoria end to allow the tankers to pass under. Worth seeing.

We really didn't have a reason to go across this bridge, except to go across this bridge. Kind of a "why did the chicken cross the road" thing I guess... We just wanted to drive across it and it was pretty fun - great views...More

So worth the drive to see this bridge. I've lived in Oregon for the last 40 years and finally made it to Astoria. I was surprised at the length of the bridge as I did not realize it was a lot longer than I thought....More

Beautiful, amazing bridge over the beautiful, amazing Columbia River! Our hotel was on the river, so we had a great view of the bridge and river the entire time!

I know it's just a bridge and you just drive, but it is HIGH and kind of scary but also exciting. This bridge is pretty and it goes from ground level, WAY high to skimming the river. Worth the drive. Beautiful views!

You could see a big part of the bridge from the The Astoria Column, which is overlooking the Columbia River but not all.

They are and will be until 2017 if I recall the signs right. I do not recall a low overhang clearance, at least nothing any conceivable vehicle would worry about.
