We've had a full view of the bridge from our hotel room and could appreciate this engineering marvel in its full splendor. One day we might drive on it too, though the kid is still too worried about its hights :).

We drove over to Washington and back again after visiting Fort Columbia. There is a nice view of the water and surrounding area. You haven't missed much if you don't go over, but worth a look. We didn't have any strong winds, but it seems best to avoid if there are. One must obviously stay in the car the whole... More

This bridge connects Washington and Oregon state and spans the Columbia River. High enough for container ships to pass under. Great way to get from one states coast line to the other.

We were back in Astoria. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the Astoria-Magler Bridge. It crosses the mouth of the Columbia River. We also enjoyed our drive across it from Oregon to Washington side.

I first say this bridge from a cruise ship as we came under it in 2007 and again 9 years later I saw it twice more. I drover over it coming down from Washington state to head through Astoria on my way to Portland. It's great fun and a great looking bridge. What a view from any and all angles... More

If you don't like heights, take the ferry! Sweeping views of the Columbia River - amazed me on how high you get!

Pictures don't really give you an idea of how massive and tall this bridge is. Imagine in its day of construction the amount of time it took them compared to what it would take today with today's technology. If you are into archaeological building of past generations, check this historic bridge out in Astoria OR

This is a big bridge put up in a difficult place. It doesn't charge a toll so there is no reason not to go over. Watch the seagulls race your vehicle.
