Since we were travelling off-season and all of the seasonal living history employees were now gone, the place was deserted except for a single Ranger. He was friendly and informative and we enjoyed speaking to him. The exhibits were pretty good in the visitor center,...More

A slightly out-of-the-way location fairly far from the interstate, but well worth the time, especially for western history buffs. This is probably the best preserved fort in all of the southwest, full of historical information, named after Jefferson Davis, before the Civil War. Give yourself...More

The staff is very informative and friendly and make for a pleasant experience. We always stop here while in Ft Davis. The museum has just gone through an expansive renovation which is hands on and great for all ages.

This fort is one of the best out there to see. Great example of early Indian Fort. Highly recommend stopping and seeing it. They continue to improve it. They have a golf cart available for handicapped.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but I enjoyed visiting the Fort. The information center is very good and you get a good understanding of life when the Fort was up and running.

To truly experience the history of the area, bring a good pair of walking shoes and plan on spending a few hours. Bring a camera for sure.

A real time trip back into history in a beautiful setting. A knowledgeable and friendly ranger gave us an overview, then we took off on our own to explore the museum area, and then the buildings, some of which are beautifully and accurately time appropriately...More
