I've always wanted to see Ft. Laramie ever since I was young. This was a golden opportunity. There were so few people I was amazed. It was like I practically had the place to myself. The drive to the fort is easy and will definitely...More

If you are interested in US history, the West, or supporting the National Park Service, make the drive to see Fort Laramie. It’s worth it! Being able to walk on the same ground as those who lived there was a cool experience. We loved seeing...More

I had to talk my husband into stopping but even he was impressed! It wasn't hard to hear the men, the horses and the soldiers on the parade grounds. The buildings are open to the public and worth wandering around inside.

We had some free time on our way and decided to stop here. It was cold and windy, but we still enjoyed it. We decided it would be great to spend more time on a nice sunny day. Well worth the stop.

A part of the history on the old west. It is quite a big area and the day we visited it was very hot. Some of the buildings have been restored to give you a feeling what it was like back in the 1840's. There...More

You can say, you've seen one fort, you've seen 'em all. In part this is true, but that is not why I visit these types of forts. I visit for historical value and what their mission as a fort was. The soldiers as well as...More

It was an important outpost for the settlers heading to Cali/Oregon...the buildings are well preserved and some contain period items from that era...I recommend visiting the soldiers barracks...you can still see their uniforms and other equipment they've used...More
