I walked to the Walters Art Museum, located in Baltimore's Mount Vernon section, on a Sunday after visiting the Washington Monument. The museum building, which opened in 1909, is beautiful. It houses an extensive collection of art from just about every part of the world. During my visit, there was a special exhibition by 15th century Italian artist Carlo Crivelli... More

If you've been to the behemoth museums -- the Met, the Louvre, etc., you will really appreciate this smaller version. You get a wonderful taste of centuries of art, but without the museum fatigue. We spent two hours there, but would have been happy to spend a little more in-depth time.

I walked through many of the exhibits easily and it wasn't overcrowded. I was thrilled with the extensive Egyptian and Roman collections. My husband was impressed with the armor collection. It... I love going to Walters art gallery it is a lot of fun and they are very family oriented. The top must see's are the mummy and the replica (can't rember the year) of the Mona Lisa.

Great selection of paintings, excellent museum. Some of the curators labels were down right stupid but as in most shows, the paintings did the talking.

One of the top places to visit in Baltimore for both out of towners and locals. What a surprising collection! Mummies, old masters, impressionists, Asian art, armor, butterfies, Korans, jewelry from ancient to Tiffany. I love this place.

The whole museum is great but the 4th floor has the special shows. Right now they have acquisitions that Henry Walters and his son purchased with a little about each. Totally enjoyed myself.

Delightful collection ranging from Egyptian to Flemish and more. An expansive collection that is not too small nor too large; a wonderful representation of the various genre; and you should love it! This Vegan could not visit Baltimore again without a return to the Walters; it is wonderful (and do use the Charm City Circulator - a free yes Free... More
