I have visited the Maryland/Baltimore Zoo for over 40 years. I have always felt that it was one of the best and most accessible zoos including some that I have visited in Asia. I went to the Maryland Zoo the other day and was saddened...More

It was a lot of walking for the size of the zoo, but we enjoyed the animals, especially a very active chimp who kept banging on the walls to get everyone's attention. The only disappointment was the new exhibit with the polar bears and grizzly...More

Living in NY, the Bronx Zoo is always a real for us, but going to a smaller, more easily navigated zoo has its benefits too. Good exhibits, very clean.

Perhaps I have been been spoiled by zoos, but I was severely disappointed by this zoo. First, you walk in and you either have to walk a ways to get to the exhibits OR you have to take a shuttle. I think it takes away...More

Really solid zoo. Lots of walking though, and some tricky areas with a stroller. Besides the penguins, polar exhibit was pretty much empty. African area made up for that tho and had animals everywhere. Really liked exploring thru caves for the maryland exhibits. Maybe they...More

Maryland zoo has many hills making it a little hard to push a wheelchair, but they have wheelchair mobility making it a more enjoyable visit.

Our family spent over 3 hours at the zoo. We were able to see most animals! The highlights - penguin feedings, watermelon smash by the elephants and feeding a giraffe. Bucket list item checked off when I fed the giraffe. We all enjoyed our first...More

This was our first time to the Maryland Zoo at Baltimore. While on the small side, it was a great little zoo for the price. Fantastic penguin exhibit is a must see along with the giraffes and elephants.

If you're a member of another zoo somewhere else they may have a reciprocal agreement for a reduced entrance fee.

According to google maps it's a 17minute bike ride (2.4 miles) and only 12minutes by car (no biggie since it's only a difference of 5 minutes). There's free parking which is rare these days. I wouldn't advise to walk there... More
