This is a lovely and historic area that is certainly a great spot for a walking tour. At times, it can seem pretty vacant without a lot of activity but the architecture makes it worthwhile.

My favorite area in Baltimore for just walking around. Sort of has a feel of a European city to it--great architecture, lots of restaurants, lots of people on the streets. Plus the Peabody, Walters Art Museum and Meyerhoff add that cultural vibe.

This was my favorite place to walk in Baltimore, the inner Harbor is beautiful but I was in love with the architecture of Mt. Vernon. They just don't make beautiful buildings like that anymore, and it's a gem for photographers! I couldn't quit snapping pictures.
