This is a university that cares about educating its students at the highest academic levels. The Library is superb, well organized, and well staffed. The humanities are valued at Hopkins as the restored Gilman Hall houses all the major departments in a well appointed space...More

The University has some lovely buildings and small parks. The area has some friendly little cafes and coffee bars and a very good Barnes and Noble. The Art Gallery is based here as well and is very impressive.

For an institution that employs thousands and brings in thousands of patients and conference visitors on a daily basis, Hopkins has a dismal choice of places and things to eat. Fast food franchises that are run in an institutional manner, shortages, food not cooked fully...More

The closest to the university is the Inn at the Colonnade - A Doubletree Hotel, at 4 W University Pkwy, Baltimore, MD 21218. It is directly across the street from the campus. Nice place and very convenient.
