The university complex and the adjacent medical/hospital facility are world class facilities. Not "old" compared to European universities but old enough in the American context. The urban campus is well maintained and organized and easily "walkable" from the parking areas on the medical campus. Public transport abounds but I would recommend caution. Some of the adjacent neighborhoods are rough and... More

The quads are beautiful especially in the spring. The research is world class. Much interest since the publication of the Henrietta Lacks Story. The lovely Baltimore Museum of Art is adjacent to the campus. Nice Way to spend a day

It is a beautiful college campus with The Baltimore Museum of Art just next to it as well as a historic museum on campus right near the main entrance. There are restaurants nearby and a nice one in the Baltimore Museum of Art.

A great university in the inner city in an upscale neighborhood. The new Henrietta Lacks movie reflects the story of the family and the research lab that established the world's human cell study gold standard HeLa cells while her family misunderstood what was happening with her cells with some thinking their mother could still feel pain as her cells were... The JHU campus is incredibly beautiful. Visit in the spring and enjoy quads filled with flowering trees and spacious greens surrounded by lovely Georgian red brick buildings. Tour through Gilman Hall and admire the beautiful stained glass in the reading rooms, see the generous library space, beautiful athletic facilities, and extensive academic spaces. Add to this the fact that JHU... More

We visited Johns Hopkins as a college Visit for my daughter, and attended an hour-long presentation by a member of the admissions team for the university. Our initial concerns of security remain after driving through some dilapidated neighborhoods in Baltimore, but the campus seems relatively secure, with security guards and emergency call buttons everywhere. The campus is beautiful and we... More

Either Johns Hopkins University or the Hospital a distance from each other, terrific history behind both institutions. The University itself has beautiful grounds, lovely staff. The Hospital sits in a pretty bad part of town sorry to say, BUT good care.

We toured the school this weekend and found the campus to be beautiful and everyone we encountered very friendly. If you come I would suggested staying at the Colonnade Doubletree hotel which is just across the street from the campus.
