This church is a must see on the tour list. Absolutely beautiful! I could not stop looking up at all the stained glass and the paintings. My camera did not do it justice, it is such a beautiful place.

We attended mass here on Pentecost Sunday at 10:00 am. Thankfully, parking is free on Sundays and we found a parking spot about 2 blocks away. Definitely plan to spend about 20 minutes finding a parking spot and walk to the cathedral. The cathedral is...More

Our trolley tour guide told us if there is only one thing you have time to see, make it be the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist! I’m so glad he shared that because it was an absolutely gorgeous and historic cathedral. We were lucky...More

Try to stop by when services are not in session so you can peek inside. It is beautiful and somewhat of a surprise to see in downtown Savannah - it stands out.

St. John's is open to the public as well as an active cathedral with mass everyday. We walked in and around viewing the statuary and stained glass windows and the altars. We sat for a moment to reflect on the Church and its part in...More

Based on what I saw, there is no dress code. There was a great mixture of folks attending the mass (5:30 on Sat. night). Some of the did suits, but most had either sweaters or winter jackets. I wore jeans with a sweater and... More

There was a midnight Mass. Residents of Savannah told us that you have to arrive very early as the number of people are attending and late arrives end up standing outside for the Mass.
