History is around us.

A beautiful place to stroll. The historical signs tell the story of the people who called Savanah home. Interesting and we'll worth stopping by.

Take a tour of this beautiful cemetary. There is so much history that you really need a guide to tell you about the monuments and statues.

The cemetery is loaded with history about savannah and georgias history. The Graves date back to the mid 1700's, but unfortunately some of the Graves are so old they are not legible.

This cemetery has some of the oldest graves in the country and is certainly worth the time to visit.

We didn't have a chance to tour it as much as we wanted, but we were glad to learn some of the history of the current "residents" from the historical markers. I have a soft spot for old cemeteries, and this was one of the better ones. We plan on completing our tour on another visit, as well as getting... More

Really enjoyed strolling through and ready the background information posted about the people and events in early Savannah history. The tour beyond good and evil with Nicodemus gives a behind the scene picture about local historical events surrounding this cemetery.

We stopped off because the tour guide had lots of information on the history and we walked around to take it in.

This is a very beautiful cemetery, a short walk from River Street, and just so happend to be directly across from the house we rented for the week of our wedding. Our wedding date was set for Oct. 30th, the same day he proposed on the year prior, and planned to take place in Bonaventure Cemetery (apparently a very common... More

Walking around the old graves - some of them above-ground crypts, some raised tombs, and others simply flat on the ground and reading the inscriptions gives one a sense of the lives of the now-interred residents of Historic Savannah. Loving husband, faithful wife, precious children taken too soon, these are the legacies that the living relatives inscribed as final goodbye's... More

We always stop at the Colonial Park Cemetery when we're in Savannah. It's a quiet stroll, there are interesting monuments and beautiful trees, and one contemplates history there.
