Lots of pictures of boats and boat models. Not bad if you're into that sort of thing but the museum is a little light on historical info. The grounds are very nice and would be neat for an event. If you bring kids, they will be very uninterested.

Lots of model ships of those used and named for the city. Cool old mansion used to house the museum.

There is a charge to to see the museum. They asked if we had AAA etc which impressed me. We arrived when to museum would be closing in an hour and a half. We asked if that was enough time to go through, and they said yes. The ship models were very impressive. The house was beautiful and impressive. There... More

Museum is located in an historic home so like getting 2 for 1. Ship models are incredible as they reflect great detail and the placards provide a good recap of the vessels service.

So after a few years of living in Sav, I finally made it to this museum. I wish I hadn't waited! The artifacts and ship models are completely enthralling. I was entertained, educated and enchanted--no lie. Check it out with a friend or bring the family, your inner kid will shine.

A pleasant and interesting museum on the west side of Savannah close to the river. A pleasant outside area for activities and lots of ship models and information in the museum, one of the oldest, largest houses in Savannah.

The home and grounds alone is worth a visit. The details on the various model ship displays were fascinating.

I enjoyed the history of the house which is on the second level at the top of the stairs. The models were interesting and I really enjoyed the ones that were open on the sides so you could see all the people and cargo loaded into the boats - I think kids would love this part of the museum. I... More
