There are so many beautiful and historic squares in the heart of Savannah and Wright Square is definitely one of them. Over the centuries, it went through a lot of changes. It originally had the name of Percival Square dating back to 1733. It was later renamed to honor the last Royal Governor of Savannah. It was also the original... More

Good place to start a walking tour of Savannah. Rather than duplicate, see my review of Footprints of Savannah Walking Tour and the Savannah Historic District.

My wife and I spent 3 weeks plotting through all of the squares and parks of Savannah. This was one of our favorite squares. The history displayed on the plaques and memorial is touching.

I found this moment to one of the more beautiful ones. It was a simple, beautiful monument. I loved the location and the beauty of the monument.

This square is a great place to people watch. There are all sort of people passing through. It is also a great place to sit under a tree and relax for a while.

One of Savannah's many squares, Wright Square is a particularly beautiful one. With the monument to Mr. Gordon in the center of the square, the historic Lutheran church on one side, and old homes and businesses surrounding it, it's a nice square to check out.

It is the original burial site of Tomochichi, head of the Creeks and a friend of Oglethorpe. However, in... More

This square has a really nice monument honoring William Washington Gordon, an early mayor of Savannah. It was started around 1733 and was the second square established so older one but very well maintained. There is also a stone monument to commemorate and remember the Indian Chief, Tomochichi whose grave site was at this site before they put up the... More
