No trip to Savannah could be complete without a trip down River Street. The number of shops is only surpassed by the variety of resturants. The historic steps and factor walk remind of Georgia's historic past. The mighty Savannah River offers constant change of scenery. Personal favorites are Finest Fine and Hueys

We spent an evening having dinner and walking from one end to the other. It is literally right on the water, when the big cargo ships go by, they tower over you. Yes, it's about tourists, but that's what we are, right? Ate at a restaurant in a historic building walked into some shops, didn't buy anything. The steps up... More

First time in Savannah, what a disappointment! Online sure looked about better then what I saw up close and personal. Mostly survivor shops (overly priced) Cobblestone street, hotels, Huge barge passed by on the river, A lot of very young people with shirts that said "Get drunk" on them. Lots of bars and restaurants. Lots of people begging for money.... More

River Street is in bad need of a facelift and some better stores. A lot of the restaurants have similar menus and prices. Then there are t-shirt and souvenir shops with the same items over and over. The only stores we were impressed with were the candy ones, and they seemed the most popular. Too bad it is being allowed... More

My wife and I are in Savannah, Georgia on our honeymoon and were suggested to visit River St. We were not disappointed, everything is there and accessable like shops and great food. Definitely a must do while in Savannah.

Daytime, the old Savannah docks are lined with shops in historically interested buildings. Shop until you need lunch. At night, clubs will keep you moving until the wee hours. River Street is a A must stop for Savannah tourists.

My daughter took my wife, my granddaughter and me for stroll down River Street. Great restaurants, stores and sites. Somewhat crowded but that made it more fun. If you have time, take an hour and walk the river in Savannah. Dr. Watson

Nice walk by the River on a Friday evening, but crowded up by the restaurants and shops. Good people watching.

I am always pleased to be anywhere by the river whenever I get a chance. In Savannah you can enjoy a leisurely stroll on the River Street, or ride the free trolley ( free only here) from end to end. Big old fashioned River Boat is a tourist attraction there as well, close to the hotel Hyatt. You can reserve... More
