Fun during the day but even more at night. Enjoy the numerous restaurants, shopping and bands and you are able to enjoy adult beverage while strolling along outside and it is also blocked off to vehicles.

Nice stop on our way from SCAD to River street but probably not best place to eat... overpriced and poor pizza

City market Savannah serves as a quick-walk through on your way to the Historic District or, in our case, Telfair Museum. Very touristy with kitsy shops and restaurants(pizza, ice cream, etc.) Much better city market in Charleston.

Most of the shops in this area are what you would expect in a touristy area. Not at all interesting. Lots of bars and restaurants too. We walked through in the evening one night after dinner and this part of the city is packed with...More

Other than a few high-priced galleries, this pedestrian shopping district seems to be more of the same after you've visited River Street area. I can imagine after dark it can provide a fun night-life alternative but it does not offer anything new. It really is...More

We strolled down the street of City Market during our trolley tour. It was a big disappointment. So touristy and really a bad example of a pedestrian friendly market in a city. The only good thing was we sampled and purchased some delicious cookies from...More

The area reminded me of the Temple Bar area in the middle of Dublin, Ireland--loud and rowdy with bars and restaurants along with other food eateries and shops. If you like that type of atmosphere then City Market would be a place to visit and...More

This review is based on our visit during the day. We expected something similar to what Charleston or other cities have, various local artisans selling wares and food. We were disappointed with what we found. A tourist trap of places pitching to get your attention...More

We enjoyed our early evening walk and shopping in the city market district. There are galleries, restaurants, and all kinds of shops. We loveded our pizza at Vinnies too!!!

The Pirates House has a good menu if you don't mind being away from the hub of activity found on River Street and City Market areas.

Not totally sure...I would assume they probably stay open as late as they do other nights...- a touristy area.
