We got out early to beat the crowds and traffic. We spent a couple of hours walking and looking. Wife went into some shops while I walked and watched the boats. River Street was about the only thing we enjoyed during our visit to Savannah.

Very interesting how the riverfront has been restored with a lot of nice restaurants and shops. We weren't there at meal time but many of the restaurants looked very good. We just enjoyed strolling down the street and going into some of the shops.

The walk along the Savannah River, past a variety of eateries, sweet shops, souvenir shops, and even a taro card reader was a reminder of a time gone by when cotton was bartered and shipped down river. There is much to see and do along the Savannah Riverfront. Great for families and safe for anyone traveling alone. Watch the ocean-going... More

Great place with a variety of shops and restaurants. Lots of historical sights and information. There is a riverboat tour, a trolley tour. A lot of sampling can be had. We spent half the day just shopping and sight seeing.

My husband and I walked by many shops and restaurants on this cobblestone street. It used to be the Cotton Exchange in Savannah and the current restaurants and shops were once cotton warehouses. It was quite busy after dark, fun to window shop, and to find a restaurant along the way. A freighter ship also went by on the Savannah... More

First time we've visited Savannah in truly cool weather so the walk on the Riverfront was especially pleasant this month. Crowds have disappeared after holidays too so parking was easy to find. Local culture-- Only 3 street vendors there this week, 2 folding palm leaves and one amazing artisan who bent wire into shapes-- writing your name-- for a donation!... More

We spent here an hour of fun. It is a great end point for a walking tour as you can sit down a bit and watch the river. There are several restaurants right next to the waterfront if you want to dine.

If you're visiting Savannah and want souvenirs, this is a good bet. It's a pleasant stroll, along the river, with lots of gift shops and restaurants, a fudge shop, that sort of thing. For some people, this is what travel is all about. For us, we stopped for coffee, got our refrigerator magnets, and went happily on our way. Go... More

This was such a pleasant surprise. Interesting architecture and history. Unique battistone streets, quaint shops, lots of great restaurants and beautiful waterfront. Fun to watch the big cargo ships going up and down the river. Nice walkways along the river with historical statues and markers along the way. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

We were there New Year's Eve and again New Year's day to shop. There needs to be more public bathrooms. Those port a potties could be nasty in the warmer mmonths.
