A New Day For Tours...in Savannah, Hilton Head, Riceboro, and the Lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina – “Day Clean Journeys”. We take you on journeys through time. Get a full view of the history regarding the above areas on one of our journeys (tours). We pride ourselves on providing “Tours for Everyone”! Anyone can and will enjoy our tours. In addition, it is a philosophy of life that means each day is a new day; each day starts anew; no matter what occurred yesterday – today is a new day (“day clean”) . We provide stimulating, informative, and enlightening journeys. You may even become a little inspired after a journey.Students and Teachers, Families, Religious Groups, Youth Organizations, Conference Attendees, Senior Citizens, Friends, and Others have been enthralled by our journeys. We are sure you will be enthralled, also.We have provided tours and shared the history of the lowcountry to groups for over a decade. Not only can we provide a wonderful tour but we can arrange for living history presentations that are entertaining, engaging, and illuminating.

We have been fascinated by the stories of the Gully and decided to try this tour. As Jamal told us from the beginning this is a journey not a tour. We learned a terrific amount about the African culture in the coastal areas. I would strongly recommend this journey for everyone, black and white.

My wife and I were looking for some R&R but also desired to go an authentic tour Savannah, GA. We found this through Day Clean Journeys. Dr. Jamal provided us with an intimate journey through the historic city of Savannah and was extremely knowledgeable about the industrial plantation, the underground railroad, and overall evolution of the city to it's current... There were only two of us today for the 1 pm African American history journey so Jamal gave us a private journey! He didn't take any short cuts even though it was just the two of us. We loved the history and the interesting stories that gave life to the history. This tour should be required of every student in... More

An alternate view of history. Focuses on an expanded view of African American history in Savannah. Excellent guide, a college professor full of passion for his subject, charming and entertaining. A full 2 hours. Excellent, a must, for families w school aged kids. Well worth the $20 each we paid as senior citizens.

Wonderful experience. The highlight is Dr. Jamal who is a bevy of information - enthusiastically sharing his knowledge about the history of Savannah and it's early African inhabitants. It's immediately clear that Dr. Jamal does this, not for the money, but rather for the love of the history of his home and his people. Dr. Jamal encourages participation and readily... More

My husband and I toured the 1st African American Church and lucked up with Amir as our tour guide. We were so impressed that we joined his next available tour of Savannah and he did not disappoint! It was great, very informative, eye opening with a little entertainment from his bis personality. I highly recommend.

Indeed, this is a journey, not a regular tour. Jamal, a professor of African-American history at Savannah State, is articulate, knowledgeable, a gifted story-teller, and an advocate for universal human rights. He pulls no punches, talking about the economic underpinnings of slavery and the lived experiences of slaves, and how this system led to institutionalized racism in America. I thoroughly... More
