Savannah is the gem of the south
Most beautiful city to visit in USA. Great architecture, history and people. Never a boring moment.if you are a history buff this is a great place to explore. Savannah has charm and grace that is part of the nature of the people who live there.

    Savannah is just wonderful!
Historic Savannah is one of the cities that we always return to. The architecture is amazing. The restaurants very good. Such a walkable area! There are walking, biking, and trolley tours available. Have a great time. The heavy areas are riverside, but take a lot of time just to stroll and enjoy the homes, churches and restaurants.

If you’re into history, this is your spot!
Big tip… Old Town Trolley tours from market square, guided tour with multiple stops, on/off at will. The historic district is beautiful, well worth the whole trip. Lots of history and wonderful architecture. Moss covered trees, park areas, monuments, shops, and restaurants. But, be prepared, parking is terrible. Pay paying only, virtually, and not cheap.

    Some good, Some not so
We spent a long weekend here as it has been on my bucket list for a while. American Airlines has a direct flight there from Philly and now Avelo is also added a direct flight from Wilmington making it easier to get to. Lots of history and plenty of shops, some tacky but some with great merchandise. Some great restaurants (45 Bistro is our fav) and some disappointing. We took the Old Savannah Tour trolley to get acclimated to the city and discovered the American Prohibition Museum. My wife is not a history buff nor does she like museums but had a great time here. Check out the Marriot Waterfront lobby...a hidden gem.

    Great time in Savannah
Fabulous place to visit. Take the trolley tour. Visit River Street. Little Duck Diner is a nice place for lunch. Tybee Island is about 15 minutes from town. Climb the 178 stairs

Beautiful city with lovely squares and historic houses.
We have been to Savannah before but wanted to stay in the Historic district so we could walk the area. We took the hop on hop off trolley to see which historical homes to visit. Savannah is a beautiful city with great restaurants. We visit Hilton Head often but wanted to spend a few days just in Savannah.

The very definition of Southern Charm
Romantic and walkable city with green spaces throughout. Very relaxed, slow paced and lined with one charming house after another. The architecture alone is breathtaking and it’s the very definition of southern charm. We were happy to visit, explore and experience this district! Definitely a unique place with a lot of character. Will be definitely be back! While you’re walking, be sure to admire all of the uniquely and ornate doors! I’m inspired to go home and paint my door red!

Lovely Historic Homes, Squares and Beautiful Live Oak Trees
The Savannah Historic District has many beautifully restored homes, twenty-two lovely squares and the most beautiful live oak trees throughout the area. One may enjoy strolling through the area admiring the magnificent homes, architecture, iron work, and doorways. Each square is unique and beautiful as well.

    River St Inn Savannah GA
Stayed at River St Inn downtown it was lovely! The staff especially Sarah and Freda. After a long semi stressful drive these girls brightened me right back up gave us great suggestions of where to go! The complimentary bottle of champagne was exactly what I needed! We went to Vic's on the waterfront for dinner It was delicious!

    Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home
Fascinating! Our docent was Jane, who I believe is the Director of the Museum. Jane’s love, respect, enthusiasm for Flannery brims as she explains Flannery’s early life, and how much of an influence her home played on the budding writer. Jane also explains the intricacies of Flannery’s early life, and how this aided and abetted her trajectory.

One of the most beautiful spots to spend well-deserved time off. It remains a step back in time with amazing historical structures that have withstood the test of time, weather, war and fire.

We spent three days walking around and admiring the magnificent homes in the area. We walked during both the day and night and always felt safe.

We just spent a wonderful three days in Savannah Georgia doing all the touristy things. Savannah is a beautiful city with so much fascinating history. Do yourself a favor and google all the gorgeous historical homes before visiting them. Each home is more interesting then the other!
Male sure you wear comfortable shoes and have some water with you.
We did the Savannah Hop on Hop Off Tour and the Dead of Night walking tour, (see reviews).
The people of Savannah are friendly and welcoming.
Would highly recommend.

Savannah has plenty of charm[ multiple squares, waterfront, live oak, Spanish moss, long history]. But it has gotten much bigger/busier since we last visited 25 years ago. Lost some charm.
Definitely, definitely worth a visit... One visit for us would have bene fine.

We had such a beautiful long walk in the charming historic center with its perfect grid of streets intersected by green squares, typical antebellum houses adorned with elaborate iron balconies, elegant mansions with tall windows, magnificent leafy oaks covered with mysteriously looking Spanish moss… Lovely day in gorgeous weather.

Very pleasant area to walk around in. Something like 12 small squares / parks. Beautiful homes and neighborhoods. Not a huge fan of the riverfront. That area a bit of a tourist trap.

What should be a trip to a lovely historic city unfortunately was significantly lessened by the smell of the paper plant on the northwest side of the city on the Savannah River. It was pervasive, even into our hotel and restaurants. The other fly in the ointment was the drinking culture there; for the most part the bars offer large drinks using cheap alcohol and there are signs of drunkenness everywhere in the evenings, both inside and out. If these two things don't bother you then architecture and the excellent documentation of the many historic sites should provide you with a good time. There are also many wonderful people here.
