Devoted to the art of today, the contemporary Jepson Center links Telfair’s future with its past, unifying the museum’s three distinct sites. The building, designed by Moshe Safdie and opened to the public in 2006, features over 7,500 square feet of gallery space for major traveling exhibitions of contemporary art and installations of works from the permanent collection. Educational programming takes place in the 220-seat auditorium, community gallery, education studios, and ArtZeum—a unique, 3,500-square foot interactive gallery for children and families.

We went on family day, but we were there for a girls' weekend. Lots of kids. It was worth the walk through but we were glad it was free that day. Allocate a couple hours at the most for this museum.

The Jepson Center was one of the most creative and engaging small museums I have visited recently. When was the last time you thought of a visiting an art museum as fun? While the special exhibit while we were there of Faberge objects and china was quite extensive it was the thoughtful regular displays, many clearly aimed at families, which... More

This is a newer building, well laid out and filled with exciting exhibits. Not your typical boring museum and much more enjoyable than a cheesy themed museum. When we purchased the tickets the young lady was very informative. It would run us $70 for four of us to purchase a ticket. Which isn't bad as you get access to this,... More

Came to this museum as part of the Telfair museum tour. The museum was.big and the exhibits were interesting. Worth checking out. Although I preferred the old southern art displays to the new and modern Jepson museum.

Thank you for your comment. We hope that you were also able to enjoy the Owens-Thomas House in addition to the Telfair Academy and Jepson Center, as all three experiences are included in the price for one ticket. More

I went to the Jepson Centre as part of the Telfair Museums tours. The design alone drew me in, all white, the light, the lines, and open space! Just fantastic to to look at! I really enjoyed spending some time here, where it was so relaxing and I could move from exhibit to exhibit, unhurried! After you've spent some time... More

This museum is so spacious and bright! I found it really neat that they had a employee art show while I visited. Lots of talent working there. The exhibits were nicely laid out with lots of informational resources. The people working in the museum were enthusiastic. I was not part of a tour but walked past one and they seemed... More

We stopped in to see the Monet exhibit but were enchanted with the entire place. I highly recommend this stop for art lovers.

Visited the Jepson on a 3 for one ticket with their two other sites (great deal!) The Jepson Center makes a bold statement in Historic Savannah with a design by Mishe Safie. Enjoyed their temporary exhibits and their children's interactive area is impressive. Quite the contrast to the more traditional art center across the street but both are will worth... More

I more or less stumbled upon this and was glad I did. The top floor is dedicated to an interactive space for kids and younger people, which would provide a rest for weary parents. Nicely laid out and interesting exhibits.

This beautiful building, designed by Moshe Safdie, had 3 terrific shows when we were there - Complex Uncertainties: Artists in Postwar America, The Tsars’ Cabinet: Two Hundred Years of Russian Decorative Arts under the Romanovs, Watershed: Contemporary Landscape Photography and my favourite, Stick Men: Savannah Folk Art Canes and Wood Sculpture. These canes were charming and original and defined found... More
