We loved our riverboat tour. Based on other reviews and the many great restaurants in Savannah, we elected not to try the dinner tour on the boat. We did an afternoon tour for 1.5 hours -- and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ship is very well maintained. We were pleasantly surprised at the drink choices -- they even had one of... More

I was expecting a nice trip on the Savannah River but the boat was so slow and you can see the whole river tour from where you stand to board. Look up the river both ways. There you go, you did the tour. They did give history of the buildings along Market street and give information about the shipyard. Book... More

I had booked ahead of time, so we ended up taking the tour on a rainy day. It was interesting with historical narration, but I found the scenery boring. Sorry

We walked past the Georgia Queen riverboat several times both in the evening and in daylight. Then we decided, "Hey, let's take a ride." So we bought tickets for the hour and a half afternoon excursion. First I have to say we are both somewhat history buffs. So "Captain John's" dialog during the cruise was very enjoyable. For example, we... More

When guiding a tour, historic accuracy is important. So imagine my surprise when the Captain, in describing the civil war history of Savannah, was talking about the Union army in Savannah, but instead of saying General William T. Sherman, he repeatedly said General Robert E. Lee. Not Sherman's march to the sea, but Lee's. Not Sherman decided not to burn... More

We took the afternoon cruise, and it was a warm day! All in all, the cruise was nice, the captain was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about the history of shipping in Savannah and how the river is maintained to this day, to accommodate the large cargo ships that come in and out! Because the day was warm,... More

A bit overpriced in my opinion for what we received (and what we didn't). Almost $65 per person for the dinner cruise. Not sure if there was an "upcharge" for the Christmas Eve cruise. The whole thing ran as if it was their 1st time. The lines for dinner were terrible backed up. I don't think the tables were released... More

I live in the Savannah area and of all the southern hospitality you hear about Savannah Riverboat delivers! I am a chef so the only deduction was the lunch. It was good just not great. The fried Chicken was very tasty just not crispy because being in a warmer adds steam. The announcer on the tour was OUTSTANDING! lots of... More
