We visited here after we ate at the Mason-Dixon Cafe. Really neat and informative area. Lots of exhibits inside...very well put together. My daughter (11) took a Jr Ranger booklet and immediately began her adventure. Nice walking tour outside. The 2nd part of the trail can be slightly strenuous (there are some hills into the cemetery). Overall we really enjoyed... More

It is rather small compared to many civil war battlefields, but they make up for it with excellent exhibits and maintenance of the property. Like others said, unless you're a history buff, this won't take much more than an hour. But unlike vast empty battlefields, all the surrounding homes do give it a sense that people lived where the battles... More

I was able to walk the path in about an hour. The cemetery is very interesting as well. The visitors center has a museum with a lot of cool stuff to look at as well as some artifacts found in the area. Would highly recommend stopping if you are in the area.

When we walked in, it didn't look like much, and I figured we would spend 5 minutes. We left two hours later! It was much bigger than it appeared, and between the film, all of the historical displays, and the outdoor trails, we were kept quite busy. Very well-managed!

It was a lovely battlefield. Friends that live in the area highly recommended that we visit during our stay in Fredericksburg. I'm glad we made the time.

A very easy battlefield to see in a couple of hours. I like the building that still retains battle bullet holes.

Beautiful battlefield, very small area, can be visited and taken in with only about an hour of time to walk it all. Still worth seeing!

I have been here several times and brought several visiting family members and friends here. It iis very nice and educational. You learn a lot about the Civil War and the history of Fredericksburg. I do recommend seeing this while in Fredericksburg. It is also near Old Town Fredericksburg with plenty of shopping, antiquing and eateries.

JMJ Took a day trip out of DC and drove about an hour and some. This is a special place to learn something of the carnage of the Civil War and it's effects on the local area. The town was obliterated during the battles nearby. Learn about the battles and the rebuilding that was done to save a once prosperous... More

We went by Trolley and then on foot throughout town... Love Old Town. Check out all the battlefields...the history is rich complete with alot of names and cemetery finds for genealogy buffs.
