I was ready for Gettysburg. Or Chickamauga. A fully preserved battlefield: I wantes to really see where it happened, feel the history. Yes, there are still lots of historic sites. But the battle for Maryes Heights was covered by hundreds of homes. You couldn't see...More

A Beautiful place but very sad. The amount of lives lost here is devastating. A part of our history that is not very good. Brother against brother. U.S against U.S.

Frederickburg was such a major battle in the Civil War that it is impossible to not see it if you have a interest in that historic era. Spend the time to see the video presentation in the Visitor's Center - it's so well made and...More

I recommend the guided tour of the battlefield that you can get at the Visitor Center. It is free and it is excellent. There is nothing you can read that compares to it.

There are not riding horses experiences any where close by. Again the Fredericksburg Area Vistors Center can help you out. Riding trails are located in more rural areas of the county.
