A beautiful home with well kept grounds. I love old farm homes even though this one of Mary Washington's was not actually a "farm house". So much of our American history here!! Very worth the visit.

Our tour guide gave us a great history lesson on the Washington family. Mary Washington was quite a gal! I highly recommend it, just to learn more about them, including George and his siblings. Pretty house, tho quite small. We very much enjoyed our visit!

A costumed guide led a tour of the lower floor. She was very informative about Mary Washington and the house. What makes the place special was that it was t home of Washington's mother. It is small.

It was part of the walking tour so I went in. The staff was very friendly. They gave great details about the home. The garden is nice too.

The Mary Washington House is small but interesting. Unfortunately none of the outbuildings are open to the public. This is a nice example of 18th century in town living.
