Well preserved, large Confederate Cemetery in the heart of Historic Fredericksburg, VA. I found it great for a peaceful walk, assuming you have good weather.

One of the many historic sites of Fredericksburg. You'll want to read an article about it at the Visitor's Center. You really must stop here when in the area

Maintained beautifully. Lots of history to look at and explore. We went first thing in the morning and it was very quiet in the area.

This is a well kept cemetery, with grass being mowed once a week. Some gravestones are so weathered to the point I couldn't read any names or numbers, the oldest being 1840, with the latest at January 2009. Have read over 1000 confederate troops of...More

For the history buff, you will appreciate this place. Again, it was a sad time in our history. Take time to experience this Confederate Cemetry.

Mix of confederate soldiers and community. Soldiers are buried at the very back of the cemetery. Watch your step as ground is uneven.

What a beautiful place. It is hard to imagine a place that was created by so much violence. This site only tales about an hour and is worth the time it takes to visit,

This is a lovely, well-kept tribute to the Confederate dead. It is a quiet place to reflect on the impact that the Civil War had on our nation, both the North and South. Many of the soldiers buried here were fighting for their homeland, and...More
