Like most tourist information centers this location has an introductory exhibit, many available brochures and knowledgeable staff. It's only a few blocks away from downtown and in a very walker-friendly area near Griffin Park and the Chena River bank. Highly recommended if you are not travelling in an organized tour.

A wealth of information. Take a few minutes to watch the movie playing in the theater. It was a very good primer to the area's history. The displays are very well done and the information available there is comprehensive.

Staff in the information could not be more polite or helpful. There is so much in the Archives to view. Unfortunately, we were a little taken aback when we had to go through security to access the building. This is something we are not used to, although we understand the necessity of it..

This info. center was very well thought out--a great source of information about Fairbanks & Alaska in general. The staff are friendly & a great source of information about things Alaska. Would highly recommend a visit here! And unlike many of the other museums, this Center is Free!

The Alaska Public Lands Information Center has a lot of great information of course but take the time to pick the brains of all their staff. They are extremely knowledgeable of not jut the immediate area but also all about Alaska.

I felt it ruin the beautiful view. As I talked to local people, they are not happy about it. It sticks out like a sore thumb. Why would we do this to such beautiful land.

This is a great place to go to get information about the Federal Alaska Public Lands. The Rangers and Staff are all excellent speakers, enthusiastic about their work, and have a lot of great material to inform the tourist about the Public Lands. There is much to be learned which you might not expect. I would rate this as five... More

The Public Lands info center is a great place for visiting educators. Lots of info is available that can be used in the classroom when studying US history, Alaska, the arctic, national parks and more. The staff is very helpful if you are planning backpacking/hiking trips in public use areas. They also have well designed informational displays about different regions... More
