We were going to Anchorage in late November to spend Thanksgiving with family. We decided to fly to Fairbanks Friday - hope the Northern Lights would be visible and then fly to Anchorage on Saturday. The booking process was very easy and we were told to txt Ben Thursday to reconfirm. We did and we sent a txt on Friday... More

We combined the Chena Hot spring tour and the Chandalar ranch aurora viewing tour the same day. Our guide for the hot springs tour Emmet was awesome. He shared his childhood stories growing up in an Athabascan village and gave us a good immersion experience into the Alaskan culture. Hot springs are awesome. We did not get a chance to... More

Ben is an excellent guide with very good knowledge of Aurora. I also got to hear some of his interesting stories when he used to live in the mountains. After picking up a few more people from fairbanks, we left for Chandalar Ranch around 10:30 PM which is located 25 miles from the city. While we were on road, Ben... More

I booked my tour a month to coming to Alaska. Even reconfirmed 2 days before my scheduled date. And even used Ben's city tour. Our tour guide was Emmet who did a fantastic job. Waiting later for the Aurora tour, Ben called me at 9:35pm and cancelled the tour, he said that the weather was bad, only to find out... More

To best explain this it is best to recap the events of the evening. The weather forecast for both Fairbanks and the area where we go for their roar was for cloudy skies all night. In these kind of cases I last checked the weather and the conditions calling out to the lodge where we go to or three hours... More

The four of us senior citizens contacted Ben regarding a City Tour on the day of our departure from Fairbanks. He was happy to accommodate our schedule and sent us his associate and friend Fred as our driver and guide. We enjoyed a great experience with Fred. He provided safe and secure transportation, intelligent dialogue, and a local perspective on... More

Ben was very knowledgeable about Aurora. We were not expecting seeing the northern light as we spent two nights waiting for it and had no result. I guess we were lucky to see it on the last day. Even though the forecast said that day we had little chance to see it, the weather changed so quickly and we got... More

Thank you so much for the great review. This illustrates how you cannot depend on predictions for either weather or for the Aurora. Where we have our lodge is in a valley that has its own weather patterns and it can be totally cloudy and even snowing or raining in Fairbanks and be clear there or clear up later in... More

Unfortunately we didn't get to see the northern lights as we only had one night free in Fairbanks. We had booked a tour and Ben contacted us a couple of times reconfirming pickup at our hotel. However, about half an hour before our pick up it absolutely poured with rain and Ben rang to say it was our choice but... More

When we found out the Northern Lights were probably going to be out our last night in Alaska we tried to book a tour through Princess but it was full. After an online search and looking at reviews from trip advisor we decided to book this tour with Ben. We did have our reservations when Ben told us we needed... More

Thank you for the very good review. We have been having very good Aurora almost every night this fall. There has been only a couple of nights so for that it was too cloudy that people could not see Aurora. Unfortunately even with that high average we have people who want to complain if they don't see it because they... More

Ben was gracious and picked us up at our hotel and headed to the ranch. It was unfortunate that the weather wasn't cooperative and we didn't see the lights. We weren't really interested in hearing all about Ben and his accomplishments. There was hot chocolate and cookies for refreshments, which was nice. He never told us where the restrooms were... I'm sure if you had seen aurora you would thought the tour would've been worth the money. This is ridiculous rating a company on whether or not Aurora can be seen this is something we have absolutely no control over and you need to understand this when taking tours. I explain this on my website how Aurora is totally unpredictable... More

Ben picked us up from our hotel around 10:30 and then after a few other pickups, we headed for his ranch about 25 minutes outside of Fairbanks. As soon as we got out of the van, we noticed the sky was filled with Auroras. He does not guarantee a sighting, but we were lucky and saw quite a few. There... More
