We took the guided tour after visiting the University Museum and Botanical gardens. These attractions are all in the same area. The LARC is only a short drive from the Botanical gardens. The tours are informative and we enjoyed our tour-$10pp. It is relatively accessible...More

A very interesting 1 to 1.5 hour guided tour to see the work the University of Alaska Fairbanks is doing with Musk Oxen and Reindeer. A nominal fee required, but you get to see Musk Ox and Reindeer up close and learn a lot about...More

An excellent low key way to see and learn about Musk Ox and Reindeer. The student guide was superb, so knowledgeable and passionate about the animals in their care. You don't need to pre-book the tours, just turn up the times are on their website....More

We visited the research station two years ago when we were in Alaska. It was one of the things on my must see again list. The musk oxen are so fascinating. We were even more excited to see the baby musk ox, Gonzo.
