Home to famous rides like the Cyclone Roller Coaster, the Wonder Wheel and the Parachute Jump, this historic seaside section of Broooklyn is about an hour by train from Manhattan and still boasts a lively boardwalk, beach, and the best hot dogs around.

I grew up in neighboring Brighton Beach, so have a life-long love affair with Coney Island. It's now better than ever. I've never ridden the Cyclone roller coaster, but have gone on the Wonder Wheel (ferris wheel) many times--as recently as 2 months ago. The...More

The rides look so beautiful at night when they are all lit up. There are lots of cool arcade style games. Bring a jacket, it gets cold at night.

I hadn't been back in a long time and wow was LUNA Park awesome. It is great to see the treasures being preserved. I wish the boardwalk offered some shade and more tables. They could improve that more but it is lovely. Don't miss the...More

Nice beach, nice boardwalk. Big fairground with loads of fast food options. Main street looks like it had its best times. Not one attractive place for coffee, lunch or dinner. I liked the wall paintings/art on the street. To EU tourists I would say; don't...More

We spent a lovely sunny day walking along the boardwalk and chilling on the beach. We walked along the beach for a while to find a quieter spot and had a lot of space to ourselves (and the seagulls) away from the hubbub of all...More

I can see where it would be fun if you lived In NYC, but not really worth visiting if you're only there for a few days. Plus, it's sort of a joke.

We were kind of disappointed in the walkway. It was very loud with folks playing loud music against different venues. There were about 40 folks fishing off the pier and were not too happy for tourist to take photos.

One must take Coney Island in the spirit in which it is offered. A unique place with a great attitude! We went during the day and had a great time on the rides, eating lobster rolls and walking on the boardwalk. The rides are much...More

I did not see any lockers. I suspect there are no lockers as they would be a security hazard. If you are thinking of swimming the water can be very cold.

It is also not on the side of the beach but on the avenue a block away from the boardwalk on Surf Avenue. You will be right there as soon as you get off the train and that's not on the side of the beach. As I said I live... More
