I absolutely love Xmas, so this place was such an amazing experience for me! The displays must take ages; you can tell the residents really put a huge amount of effort and time into the decorations. I was like a child on Xmas eve, walking the blocks around that neighbourhood, it will transport you back to that excited feeling of... More

We went on a Viator tour of the Christmas lights. It is the best way to go as the traffic is very heavy and parking is difficult. Our guide was excellent and on our walking tour he pointed out the highights and some fascinating history. The only problem was that the bus kept breaking down on the way back and... More

It's fun to get out and walk around the neighborhood there is even a dessert place called tasty pastry where they have a lot of sugar free items for whoever may need it.. They also have regular pastries also . Make... More

Start by going up 11th ave and seeing the mansions, most formerly owned by mob guys. You can see the golf course and the Bridge, and the many little Italian bakeries on 13th ave. Very residential area and historic. At Christmas time they light it up and compete with each other. Very pagan but if your into that sort of... More

A really fun, real-life Clark Griswold experience. We loved seeing the lights and hearing the history.

this is thee place to visit during the Xmas season.....the Xmas lights are truly spectacular...the people go all out trying to out do each other every year thus making it a must see....parking in the street is very difficult especially when it gets dark because of the crowds and people walking around....

No one, but no one, has a better display of Christmas lights and decorations than Dyker Heights. These folks spend upwards of $20,000 and keep Con Ed happy along with busloads of tourists, walkers, visitors from near and far. The best lights display I've ever seen and I found it clearly by accident through a local guide!

We live in Connecticut and have been wanting to visit for awhile. We drove in and found free parking nearby, but on street parking is hit or miss. During the time we were there, we only saw 2 spots open, and we were lucky to get one of them. The displays are something like you'd see in a movie. They... More

My husband I planned our holiday-of-a-lifetime to NYC for the pre-Christmas period 18th - 24th Dec 2016. I did loads of research (we booked the holiday 11 months prior) and found out about the Dyker Heights Christmas lights which I'd never heard of before. I found some tours but as they all seemed to depart from and return to Manhattan... More
