Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Carroll Park - all worth including on your exploration of old South Brooklyn. Rapidly gentrifying before your eyes. You can do worse than allocate 3 hours of your tour time to this area.

I grew up here. Although the area has changed it changed for the better. From a border line slum-working class area to a really great area . All the shops and stores ,brownstones and homes make this a really great area.

We came to Cobble Hill on a brownstone food tour. The tour was for 12 people and interestingly, most of the people on the tour were from the USA (with a couple of us from other countries), including a number of people who grew up near Smith Street in the 1980s and could not believe how the area had changed... This area is more upscale than many in Brooklyn. Residents appear to take pride in their homes. There are mainly family owned businesses which include small shops, restaurants, and bakeries. The area seems a little more congested due to narrower streets but that is most of NYC. There are nearby subway stations.

Ok, maybe a little bias because we lived in cobble hill b.c. Had to see it, great residential streets with brownstones, very little "chain" stores, smelled so good on court street. Looked like nice little local restaurants. Just a comfy vibe.

Purchased a spinach and bacon salad at the 100 Court Street location - half way through my lunch found a nail screw in the salad!!! So disgusted ! Call the store, was told to bring container and nail in. I also wrote to corporate about this unpleasant disguising experience. I'm waiting for them to get back to me with their... More
