Great for people who don't need a tour guide

Simply an amazing way to see NYC from the water and a fraction of the cost of other tours on the river

Used the ferry to get to Brooklyn to start our walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. Weather wasn't great, cold and windy, but the ferry was comfortable and stable.

.... too expensive, especially as there are no discounts and it doesn't connect with MTA system. So using it adds $8 to my daily commute. Also, most trips only go once an hour. That's a joke.

The best way to see the skyscrapers of Manhattan. Also all the riverfront along Brooklyn. A relaxing and enjoyable experience and cheap.

The ferry is a great way to explore Manhattan's skyline. For just 4$ it gets you from Midtown (33rd St) to Brooklyn Bridge (nice opportunity to start a walk over the Bridge). The ferry is rather fast. Outdoor seating is provided on the boat as well.

We used the East River Ferry to get from Brooklyn to Wall Street and it was on time, clean and well priced. We recommend it as a good, safe mode of transport.

The East river ferry isn't a guided tour but it does offer a scenic view of Manhattan and Brooklyn. We took the ferry one way from the Dumbo to E 34 St (Midtown). At $4 each oneway ($6 return!), this was a great evening out as we watched the sunset. Don't get this if you're in a hurry as it's... More

Paid a very small amount and got on the ferry in Midtown Manhattan for the trip to Brooklyn Dumbo. The views of Manhattan were stunning, starting with UN building and Trump Tower, with Chrysler Building behind, then Empire State and World Trade 1 as we went further south. Sailing under the Brooklyn Bridge was my main reason for doing it... More

Better faster and more interesting - apart from saving time in the car parks on the bridges, you get to see more and enjoy the sights far better from the ferry - and so cheap.
